Niels van der Linden has a master degree in the field of Organization of Innovation from the Rotterdam Management School (Erasmus University). His interest in innovation inspires him to search for ways of using technology to drive innovation through human behavior. Niels has over 15 years experience in business and (digital) product design & development with a focus on web and mobile. Over 4 years experience with motivational design allows him to combine the things we know about human behavior and motivation to drive meaningful engagement in especially digital learning environments. Motivational design allows us to design technology that not only enables us to do things, but helps us engage.
Through his latest venture, Patica.co, Niels focuses on the combination of motivational design, learning and digital solutions, combining personal learning with personalized learning and facilitating the interaction with content, experts and fellow learners. The team of Patica helps organizations better apply digital technologies to reach organizational goals and objectives.
Niels is currently working with Kiron Open Higher Education to develop a blended solution for refugees. Niels is also is the Turkey chapter lead for Techfugees, which is a social enterprise coordinating the international tech community’s response to the needs of refugees. Techfugees organises conferences, workshops, hackathons and meetups in around the world in an effort to generate tech solutions that can help refugees. Techfugees’ latest platform is basefugees.com which goal is to facilitate the mapping of technology solutions to NGO challenges with the aim of solving real-world problems faced by refugees.
